How can I find help citing my sources?

Answer

Whether you summarize, paraphrase, or use a piece of text that is not your original idea, the source must be acknowledged.  To cite a source, you need to use a citation style, in other words, a set of guidelines that specify what information is needed for a citation and how the information is ordered and formatted.

The library Research team provides guidelines and tailored assistance for APA, MLA, and Chicago styles.  Please, visit the "Citing your sources" webpage to find out more about the citation styles.  You can ask questions directly using the instant messaging service Ask a Librarian or request personalized assistance using the Book a Librarian service.
